The yellow-jersey-winner of 2018 Tour de Hongrie, Italian Manuel Belletti is planning to return to Hungary, his team the pro-continental Androni-Giocattoli Sidermec sent their official entry for next year’s Tour de Hongrie.

„We definitely would like to take part in Tour de Hongrie in 2019, and our plan is that Manuel Belletti will be the member of our team competing in Hungary next year” – wrote Gianni Savio, team leader of Androni in his formal letter.

We asked the defending champion of TDH, Manuel Belletti and the Italian star shared his thoughts with us about the race and Hungary. „I felt very well during the Tour de Hongrie, and i was very happy that i could win it. I liked this competition because the organization was very good, landscapes were so nice and people were kind” – said the 33-year-old cyclist who has already won stage at Giro d’Italia. – Our calendar for next year and the competitions where i am going to attend will be finalized in the coming days, weeks. What is certain now that my first race will be the Tour of San Juan in Argentina then the Tour of Colombia. When i will go back home after these races i will decide with my team about the next races of the season. I know that the Hungarian event is growing and becoming bigger and bigger each year, strong teams are competing, and i am sure it will be a prestigious race next year too and i hope i am going to be able to return!”

Next year’s Tour de Hongrie will be held between 11-16 June 2019 and it got 2.1 UCI classification. The official route and cities are going to be launched soon.
