Neri Sottoli-Selle Italia-KTM
It is our real pleasure to announce the participation of the 4th pro continental team: Italy’s Neri Sottoli-Selle Italia-KTM is going to be among the competing teams of Tour de Hongrie in 2019.
After French Cofidis, Italy’s Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec and Israel Cycling Academy an other top pro continental squad sent their entry for the 40th Tour de Hongrie. Who joins the rivals in Hungary? Giovanni Visconti’s Neri Sottoli-Selle Italia-KTM. The history of the great team started in 2009, since then several big names have been members of the group. We can mention few huge stars of the world of international cycling: 48-times Grand Tour stage winner, Italian Alessandro Pettachi, winner of the Giro d’Italia, Danilo Di Luca and Stefano Garzelli, Giro 4th Dario Cioni, winner of Deutschland Tour Patrik Sinkewitz, Giro stage-winner Luca Mazzanti, 2-times Giro 4th Andrea Noé 2-times Tour de France stage winner, Filippo Pozzato, moreover, Manuel Belletti, last year’s TDH-winner have been competing for this team for 2 years as well.
Nowadays Giovanni Visconti is the biggest and most experienced member of the Italian pro continental team. During his carreer so far he has been racing for Domina Vacanze, Milram, Quickstep, Movistar, Bahrain Merida. He has taken part in Giro d’Italia ten-times, Vuelta two-times and once Tour de France. He has had 30 professional victories and won two stages of Giro.
Anyway, the squad also has other experienced, great cyclists: Edoardo Zardini and Manuel Bongiorno competed in Giro 4-times so far or Giuseppe Fonzi and Colombia’s Dayer Quintana who finished Italy’s biggest race twice.
Among the members of the team mainly there are Italian cyclists, with the number of fourteen, in the meantime, one Dutch, one Colombian and one Austrian compete for Neri Sottoli-Selle Italia-KTM. Last year - as Wilier Triestina-Selle Italia - they participated in Giro d’Italia and by Jakub Mareczko (now athlete of CCC) they got three top10 results.
This year’s Tour de Hongrie seems to be the best and most prestigious of its history. With 4 pro continental teams the peloton is going to be the strongest ever.
Tour de Hongrie will be held between 11-16 June 2019 and it got 2.1 UCI classification. The official route and cities are going to be launched soon.
