The professional pro continental squad, Tarteletto-Isorex is going to take part in Tour de Hongrie for the very first time in history this year. It is important to mention that the technical adviser of the team is „Flanders’ Lion”, the world-famous hero, Johan Museeuw. Maybe, we will be able to meet him in Hungary…
The Belgian squad was established in 2010, got its current name in 2017. They have 14 Belgian, 1-1 Albanian, Azerbaijani, Greek and Dutch cyclists. Albania’s Ylber Sefa, Azerbaijani Kirill Pozdnyakov and Greek Pilocronis Corcakis are current national champions in road cycling, this means Tarteletto-Isorex is having three national-colored jerseys.
Pozdnyakov can be familiar to fans, he has been member of the Russian pro continental team, RusVelo for 2 years, in 2016 he won the Tour of Szeklerland. The team’s most experienced cyclist is the 38-year-old David Boucher who has been racing for the FDJ for years, but former BMC’s Dutch athlete Floris Gerts or Maxime Vantomme (previously has been member of Katusha) are also big names of the Belgians.
The manager is Peter Bauwens, the technical adviser is the „Lion of Flanders”, Johan Museeuw. He got this nickname when he won the legendary Tour of Flanders for the 3rd time. Well, during his great carreer this was not the biggest victory, in 1996 he became world champion, he won the world-wide-known cube after the Paris-Roubaix three times and in 1995 and 1996 he was the overall winner of the World Cup.
Johan Museeuw has been a real genius if we think about one-day races, even so he completed the route of the Tour de France 11-times (achieved 4 stage-victories). He has been racing for the biggest and most famous teams of the world, for example Lotto, Mapei, Domo, QuickStep, in 2000 he was the team mate of Laszlo Bodrogi at Mapei-Quick Step.
Maybe, he will join Tarteletto-Isorex during the Tour de Hongrie in summer…
Tour de Hongrie will be held between 11-16 June 2019 and it got 2.1 UCI classification. The official route and cities are going to be launched on 12 March.
