It is our pleasure to announce that Czech Republic’s strongest team is going to attend the 40th Tour de Hongrie: professional club of Hradec Kralove is preparing with victories for the upcoming Hungarian Tour starting in June.
PSK, strongest squad of the eastern region was established in 1993, since 2000 they have been a professional one. Over the years, their most famous and world-wide-known cyclist has been Ondrej Sosenka, former world record holder of 60-min cycling, the 2-meter-high hero, who has been winner of the Peace Race also has won twice the Tour of Poland and Tour of Slovakia.
If we think about the past few years, it is definitely worth to mention Tomas Buchacek, who retired at the end of last season, he was the member of the team for 13 years and achieved many victories or André Schulze from Germany, who had 16 professional wins during his carreer.
Well, the present of the Czech team is also really bright as they are such a strong squad with their 10 cyclists, with routine and experience. The 35-year-old Alois Kankovsky, has had almost 30 victories during the years (stage and overall wins), he achieved 4 this year, or the 34-year-old Jan Barta, who was the team mate of Slovakia’s world star, Peter Sagan in the Bora-Hansgrohe may be the leaders of the team.
Frantisek Sisr can be familiar for Hungarian fans, last year he won the V4 Race and he was 4th at the finish of Tour de Hongrie in Székesfehérvár. Michael Kurkle won a stage in 2018 at the Gemenc Grand Prix and was 2nd in overall. Moreover, previously with other teams Matej Stibingr, Jakub Otruba, Karel Hnik and Matej Zahalka (now all cyclists of Elkov-Author) have taken part in Hungary’s biggest cycling race.
Elkov-Author is the strongest and best team now in the Czech Republic, on the UCI Europe Tour ranking they are 26th, from those teams who will compete in Hungary soon, only 4 are better than them. Until now, they have 5 victories this year. We are definitely certain that Tour de Hongrie will be really exciting with them.
Tour de Hongrie, with its 890 km will start on 11 June, the UCI 2.1 race will finish on 16 June. 140 riders from 20 teams during 6 days are going to compete in Hungary.
