Battle starts for the yellow jersey
Teams’ presentation of the 42nd Tour de Hongrie took place in Siófok city center on Tuesday. 130 riders from 22 teams are attending Hungary’s biggest and most prestigious cycling race.

The peloton of 2021 Tour de Hongrie is stronger than ever, eight WorldTeams, nine ProTeams, four Continental Teams and the National Team of Hungary are taking part in the race. Riders from 28 countries of the five continents arrived to Hungary. The focus is huge on the Hungarian Tour, not only just on behalf of the world’s best teams, but the media coverage and broadcasts are also bigger than it ever was. During the next five days, in 150 countires there will be live TV broadcast about the stages, moreover Tour de Hongrie, the landscapes, sights of Hungary will reach almost 800 million households worldwide.

The peloton departs from Siófok on 12 May, Wednesday, they travels through Kaposvár, Balatonfüred, Nagykanizsa, Veszprém, Tata, Balassagyarmat, Gyöngyös-Kékestető, until they arrive to Budapest on 16 May, Sunday, after five race days and 792 km.
After each stage winners will be given prizes, the leader of the general classification can wear the yellow jersey, but special prize will be given to the best of the mountain classification (red jersey) and to the leasder of the sprinter jersey (green). The white one can be worn by the best Hungarian rider in the overall standing. The total prize money of the 42nd Tour de Hongire is more than 16 million HUF.
